In times of extreme poverty, nothing went to waste. Stale bread that is typically thrown out today was made into breakfasts that sustained and nourished through tough times. Here are 3 breakfasts that can be made using stale bread that were eaten during the Great Depression, WWII, and even by my father who grew up not having a dime.
3 Poverty Breakfasts with Stale Bread
1) Coffee Soup
2) Pane Cotto (steamed bread soup)
3) Homemade Cereal
